Andalucía B/W
Ferias, fiestas and weddings in Andalucía.
Many of these photographs were taken locally, either in Gaucín - where I lived for more than twenty years - or elsewhere in the provinces of Málaga and Cádiz.
In Gaucín: my young neighbours in Calle Arrabalete, a wedding at the local church (la Boda) , young girls in flamenco costume at a Gaucín feria (las Amigas), and the traditional Gaucín bull run - the Dia del Toro de Cuerda - still held every Easter Sunday (Toro l, ll, lll).
The First Communion dresses in the Sevilla window were taken during Holy Week (Sevilla, Semana Santa). The baby being shown off during Semana Santa was taken in Arcos de la Frontera in the province of Cádiz. And finally, the religious festival of Corpus Christi celebrated throughout Spain.
