Alentejo ll. House of the Dead Tree without the Tree. A farm in ruins in the under-populated, barren area of the Alentejo. I was originally attracted to this by the bleakness of the scene and by the wonderful tree that "framed" it. I had to focus on the house though, and leave out the tree, but the title - in my mind - has remained.
